University Introduction: The school is the first to allow women to acquire degrees in Russia. It was named after N. I Pirogov who was a Russian surgeon and pedagogue. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University was the first in the world to establish the paediatric faculty in 1930 which further became а model for similar faculties in other universities around the world. Later in 1964, the university also started the world’s first faculty of biomedicine. The faculty graduates are well-skilled and are working in numerous countries worldwide.
The university has extensive teaching staff including over 2,000 lecturers teaching in 115 departments for over 250 courses.
