University Introduction:
Rostov State Medical University was established in 1930. Over the 85 years since its establishment the university has attained significant growth. It has 10 faculties, a military training center, a clinic of its own and a medical college. In general, it operates over 100 departments. The lectures are more than 600; a sufficient number for training the students. The members of staff are experienced and have introduced several innovations into the school. Some of the lecturers are professors while others are Doctors of medical science.
Other than training the students, the lecturers also conduct retraining of medical professionals. Other than the basic training to students, scientific research has also been incorporated into the course. The school has enough facilities to cater for research. This includes 5 scientific laboratories. Different studies are carried out such as morphological, molecular, biochemical and microbial studies.
The school clinic is used for multiple purposes. It carries out modern diagnostic studies and at the same time it acts as a healthcare center to the people of Rostov region.
