Tashkent Medical Academy consists of three main branches. They include Urgench Branch, Fergana Branch and Termez Branch. The Tashkent Medical Academy dates back to 1919 when it was opened as a medical faculty of Turkestan state. The Tashkent Medical Academy, Fergana Branch is located in Fergana in Uzbekistan.
It was established on the basis of the medical center at the state university. This was by the resolution of the cabinet ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in June 1998. The school works with the medical schools of Uzbekistan. It also handles various specialties such as medical and pedagogical work, higher medical care, general practitioner, general hygienist epidemiologist, and highly educated nurse. The central research laboratory is the main research unit of the academy. 25 projects are currently in progress.
Out of the 25 projects, 18 are applied, 3 are fundamental, 2 are innovation and 2 are for the youth. The school is recognized by the World Health Organization.
